About Millepede International Limited

MillepedeMillepede's flagship product is the Mille-Tie - a flexible, reusable, cable tie and much, much more. Development of the Millepede concept began in 1994 when the wastefulness and rigidity of standard cable ties were recognised, and the resulting business - Millepede International Limited - listed on 28 August, 2001 as an Australian Stock Exchange company.

In 1998 a United States-based specialist injection moulding company, Moldsmiths Inc, was brought in to advance the prototype and the Mille-Tie as it is now known was born.

Millepede has patented the technology used in the Mille-Tie, and the potential applications for the technology are endless. The Mille-Tie differs from traditional tie strips in many key areas.

One of the company's major markets is the telecommunications industry. Millepede has addressed the industry specific problem of bandwidth pinching by nylon cable ties. Pinching of cable can cause bandwidth loss of up to 25% in some instances, which can result in reduced performance and reliability, and costs incurred by repairing the damaged cables.

The Mille-Tie also has applications in the defence arena. There are a number of military applications where secure ties are essential, including locations which experience high vibrations, such as in the occurrence of a missile strike.

The Mille-Tie is a product of the future as is the Millepede Brand.
